Next Phase Physiotherapy is the product of years spent on both sides of the health journey. From the teacher who first suggested I become a Physiotherapist, to my first placement where I fell in love with the profession, and every appointment I’ve had since, I’ve come to build this place where people can get the care they truly deserve. A neuro-affirming, LGBTQIA+ friendly, supportive health environment that meets you where you’re at, and helps you go further.
I myself have struggled through multiple chronic illnesses, conditions that were dismissed, misunderstood and misdiagnosed, and told that this was just ‘how it was.’ Frustrated with the lack of support available, I became the health professional I needed, who understood how connective tissue impacts how we move and feel, how it relates to headaches, migraines, pelvic conditions and more. How exercise and movement can help so much, but can be so damaging if we don’t work with our bodies.
“I attended Next Phase Physiotherapy for pelvic health support after having my baby and felt completely at ease from my first appointment. The assessment was detailed, the treatment plan clear, and I’ve already noticed a real improvement. Highly recommend for women seeking thoughtful physiotherapy care in Cairns.”

Using real-time assessment tools to better understand movement, improve muscle activation, and track your progress with clarity and precision.
Allows clinicians and patients to see muscle activity as it happens, helping identify whether key stabilising muscles—such as the transversus abdominis and pelvic floor—are activating correctly. RUSI is also non-invasive, safe, and painless, allowing physiotherapists to monitor muscle function, coordination, and progress
Measures the electrical activity of muscles and provides real-time feedback, helping patients understand when their muscles are contracting or relaxing. This feedback improves awareness and control, which can make exercises more effective. EMG biofeedback is non-invasive and helps physiotherapists monitor muscle activation and track progress during rehabilitation
The VALD Dynamo is a portable strength-testing device used in physiotherapy to objectively measure muscle force during isometric contractions. It allows clinicians to accurately assess strength, identify side-to-side imbalances, and monitor progress throughout rehabilitation. The system provides immediate, quantitative feedback, helping guide exercise prescription and track recovery over time.
The only clinic in Cairns! The HumanTrak system is a motion analysis tool that uses sensors to assess posture, movement patterns, and joint range of motion in real time. The visual data and reports support clinical assessment, patient education, and progress tracking, helping tailor rehabilitation programs for improved movement control and performance.
